Hypnotik has stepped up the game with the new Hypnotik ZenRoll V2 Hemp Jiu Jitsu Gi pants. Luxurious and ultra-comfortable for all your rolling needs. Hemp material naturally fights microbes while providing a breathable, eco-friendly gi pants that are 4 times stronger than cotton. Great for rolling in any conditions and so comfortable you could wear them as pajamas.
Make sure to machine wash and HANG dry your hemp gi pants 2 times (cold water for minimum shrinkage and hot for maximum) before use to prevent any shedding of the natural 100% hemp material.
Machine washable: Due to the properties of the hemp blend the gi pants actually gets softer and more comfortable with each wash while retaining it's strength.
Best go pants ever! So soft and very comfortable. Nice & roomy too.
I have only worn them 5 times, so I can’t speak on the durability yet. That said, these pants are great. The material feels incredibly strong but is light at the same time. It almost feels like the weave is hollow? I’m not sure. The cord is nice and thick and the cord loops are extra wide. I put mine in the dryer and they didn’t shrink a noticeable amount. I am 6’3”, 246 pounds and I’m wearing a A4. I may have to make them an inch or two shorter.
They are the best pants ever. If they had pockets I would order more just to wear out in public. After everyone saw my pants, they all wanted to order a pair as well and one guy ordered the full Gi
I've been ******* after the Zenroll for a while, but it wasn't until the 2nd version came out that I finally bought a pair of pants. (Because of my dojo's dresscode, I didn't think I could get away w/the 1st version and it's massive embroidery and branding on one leg.) So far, I've only used my pants 1X, but I'm liking it. 1st off, I had to purchase/exchange my pants 3 times before I found the right fit. According to Hypnotik's sizing chart, I was a size 4. That was way too big. I then got a size 3, and it was still big. I finally settled on a size 2, which was exactly the right size pre-wash. In retrospect, I could probably have stayed w/the 3, but I'll just have to make sure I treat my size-2 pair carefully (washing w/cold water and air drying only) so that it doesn't over-shrink. My other gripe is that the waste cord just barely reaches. In comparison, there's much, much more excess cord for my regular Hypnotik all-cotton pants (which are also an A2). I'm considering trying to swap the 2 cords out because I'd like a little extra length, but the Zenroll's green cord is just too sweet-looking! Other pros: the material does seem lighter and more airy, even though the cloth seems very substantial and thick. So I don't think durability will be an issue. Also, because of the nature of hemp and the Zenroll's weave/construction, it seems like the thread is almost hollow (think Tencel/Lyocell), so I'm hoping that will contribute to the purported whicking-qualities that hemp is supposed to have. (That will be especially appreciated on those hot, sweaty nasty days on the mat, not to mention the supposed anti-odor/anti-microbial properties!) Also, the green motif is repeated on the leg cuffs, but are discrete enough that I don't think my sensei will give me any grief for it. I haven't used my Zenroll v 2 more than 1X, but so far, I'm enjoying it. Getting the correct size will be trial-and-error, but Hypnotik's customer service was smooth as silk, and the return process was seamless. (The UPS return label is pre-paid, which is awesome.) So, kudos to hemp for being the wonder fabric, and I would definitely order from Hypnotik again.
